Requirements

  1. Introduction:  Name of the explorer; Why he is famous
  2. Early Life:  When & Where he was born; Family, Education, or other interesting facts
  3. Reasons for Exploration:  For whom did he explore?  What was he looking for?
  4. Discoveries:  Where & When did he explore?  People encountered?  Plants, animals, landforms encountered?  Riches, discoveries, or other things found?
  5. Legacy:  When & Where did your explorer die?  How did the world chance as a result of your journey (for better/worse)?
  6. Suggestions:  Picture of Explorer, Artwork (ships, navigational equipment, tools, clothing, weapons, spices, or other discoveries), Map of the Journey, Timeline
  7. Extra:  Postcard to the teacher

 *  Search by geographic region for background information; biographical information on Prince Henry the Navigator.

CCPL Databases
 *  Click the link above.  Go to the letter "H" and click it.  Look for the "History Reference Center" Database and click on it.  From there, search for your explorer.
